CATHOLICS DO KNOW THE BIBLE
Every Sunday we hear three readings from the Bible. For Catholics the readings are organized in a book called the Lectionary. This is the book from which the Lector reads each Sunday. The book is divided into three cycles: cycle A, cycle B, cycle C. Right now we are reading from Cycle A. This cycle has the Gospels mostly according to Luke, with some exceptions.
Because we are listening to 3 readings during Mass, it is difficult to absorb and retain what we are hearing, on the moment. If you commit to reading at least the Gospel once each day during the week before Mass, you will be filled with great satisfaction on Sundays when the Gospel is read; not only satisfaction, but you’ll be ready to connect well with the homily. At every Mass there is a particular lesson for each person and for the community, when we come ready to find it.
MONDAY TO MONDAY
Due to the Coronavirus, we have changed our Scripture Sharing from Tuesday's in the Parish Hall to Monday evening Zoom meetings at 7 PM. We would love to have everyone that can devote an hour to learn about the Gospel for the forthcoming Sunday
This session is not a Bible Study as such, where we analyze the background of the scripture, but rather a sharing, from those who wish to share, as to what the scripture is saying to each person. The group fluctuates each week. The largest group at one time has been 15. This scripture sharing session is a service to the parishioners from OLOA. Anyone and all are welcome. Please call Sr. Marianna at 508-982-1462 to get the scripure guide and Zoom link instructions.
