Our Lady of the Assumption parish is still rising slowly from the ashes of the Pandemic and we are trying as best we can to get things together. The council and the different ministries continue to find ways to safely meet and discuss ways to effectively proclaim God's abounding love to our parishioners in the different ministries that we serve in. Our community is gradually getting stronger and stronger every day with the hope that someday we will all come back together as a family of faith living and joyfully proclaiming the gospel here at New Bedford. We have some new members who have joined us, and we give praise to God for their gift in our community. For our Sunday Masses, we have three. One on Saturday Vigil Mass at 4 pm and the two on Sunday at 9 am and Portuguese at 11 am. Our Bishop has asked us to continue to wear masks at Mass for our own protection and those around us.
With the implementation of the Synod in our parish, we as a community hope that through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, this Synod will bring in new life to our parish and also draw us closer to God and to each other in our journey as a family of believers.
