Receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation is more about what God is doing for me and in me,than what am I doing for God!
In our spiritual journey we discover that we are life-long learners.
The process for grades 7-10 focuses on a commitment to become more and more AWAKE to our relationship to God and to the Beloved Community.
While we believe we are God's beloved children, we also realize that God depends on us to CREATE, CONTRIBUTE and GROW the Beloved Community.
The Sacraments of Initiation prepare us to enjoy the privileges that come with belonging. Likewise we take seriously our responsibility to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to those imprisoned by unjust systems.
The HOLY EUCHARIST is the source and summit of our Catholic lives.
The primary concentration in our sessions is the Sunday Scripture. Our young parishioners gather in large group to begin our session with an ice breaker, review past learnings, prayer (incorporating the Mass responses and rituals), small group sharing on the scripture, reporting back to the large group and fianlly the closing conversation: (what positive word or phrase is remaining with me.)
Candidates, normally, receive the Sacrament in the 10th grade.
